Read MoreRendezvous Bay is an anchorage in St John.
St John is a charter location in St. John, a yacht charter area in US Virgin Islands.
The anchorages on St John:
Location
A large bay on the southern coast of St John island in the Caribbean, Rendezvous Bay offers a convenient location for yacht charters to unwind and relax during their USVI charter holidays. The area is popular with holidaymakers with luxury villas and resorts overlooking the pristine Caribbean waters. Rendezvous Bay consists of three smaller bays, Hart Bay, Monte Bay and Klein Bay and has two main beaches, Hart Bay Beach and Ditleff Beach.
Navigation
The eastern side of Rendezvous Bay is considered the best and most well-protected area for yacht charters to anchor in. The bottom is mostly sand and some rocks with good holding. Expect a little bit of rolling if there’s a SE swell.
Provisioning
This anchorage point is not suitable for provisioning. The closest place for yacht charters that need access to fuel and water is the Caneel Bay Shipyard in Cruz Bay further north. There are no organized facilities or amenities in the area so visitors should come prepared. Best only for a couple of nights.
General Information
Due to the limited road access, this is a quiet area with only a handful of visitors at a time, giving you plenty of space to enjoy the beach. You will find taxis to take you to Cruz Bay which is only a 10-15 drive away.
Things to Do
Snorkelling near Hart Bay
Hart Bay is found closest to the west side and is of the least accessible beaches on the island of St John. This makes it an ideal and entirely secluded spot for swimming and snorkelling.
