Overview
Brewers Bay has green hills that overlook its shore on the right and the University of the Virgin Islands campus stands on the left. Among its inhabitants are Hawksbill turtles and Green Sea Turtles. Sand covers most of the seafloor, which allows for easy sloped entry. The water in Brewers Bay is very clear, calm, and has a sand bottom, making it ideal for wading and swimming.
General Information
University of the Virgin Islands’ St. Thomas Campus encompasses the 388-acre Brewers Bay with a major road that leads right to it. To the left of the beach is the Maclean Marine Science Center. CA Texas Chili Cookoff takes place on the beach every year and cruise ships sometimes get docked here, but the beach almost never gets crowded.
The Estate Brewers Bay is a historic sugar plantation that was once listed on the National Register of Historic Places, located along the University and John Brewers Bay Beach.
