Overview
Haulover Marine is located on Saint John Island in the US Virgin Islands. Haulover Marine is surrounded by a wide range of beaches such as south haulover beach, north haulover beach, hansen beach, etc.
Haulover bay is also not far from Coral Bay and you can take a day trip to the bay. There are also numerous accommodations, bars, and restaurants across the bay.
Where To Anchor
You will find an anchorage W of Crown Bay Marina towards the Regis Pt. The Subbase was formerly called the Haulover marine complex and has brought together numerous professional outfits. The anchorage has a crane and a dry dock that can be used to lift very large vessels.
There is also a small hard stand which is usually crowded. The arrival dock at Haulover marine is a single pontoon.

Haulover bay is a bay in Saint John situated north of east end and not far from Haulover beach. There is a road that helps link Haulover bay to different part of the island.
Beaches
South Haulover Beach
South Haulover Beach is located on the border of the Virgin Islands National Park. The beach is covered in mostly sand and pebbles. You can snorkel at the beach along the eastern and western edge of the bay as it is characterized by deep water that brings larger fish. It also has a convenient parking spot. The beach features a protected cove, and trees surround it for shade.
North Haulover Beach
Although the north Haulover beach was once overlooked by tourists for south Haulover beach, it is now getting popular among water lovers. North Haulover beach is situated at a hidden location, and snorkelers come here because of its underwater structure. The best time to visit the north Haulover beach is early in the morning or when the wind is out of the south.
North Haulover beach is covered in pebbles and coral rubble coupled with some jetsam and flotsam. The easiest place to enter the beach is from the sandy bottom, close to the shoreline.
Hansen Beach
Hansen beach is not very big, and you will find it on the east end road. You can easily access the beach from the shallow entry. The beach is also protected from big waves and wind, making it a suitable place to soak in the sun.
The beach has a calm bay which makes it suitable for snorkeling activities.
Saltwell Bottom Beach
The Saltwell Bottom beach is a private beach owned by Ash and his family. This beach is just a little bit past the main part of the Hansen bay beach. Although it is a private beach, the family opens the beach to the public. The beach offers several amenities like rented chairs, umbrellas, picnic tables, kayaks, etc. However, there is no bathroom available at the beach.
Day Trip To Coral bay
Coral bay is a village found on St. John island, and it is some minutes’ drive from Haulover beach. There are lots of attractions and historical places that you can visit here, such as Old Fort, salt pond, hurricane hole, ram head trail, Annaberg ruins, etc. Sandy beaches and restaurants surround the bay.
