Capt. Matt Dana
Matt is a USCG licensed Captain with nearly two decades of professional experience on sailing and motor yachts up to 114ft. on the Atlantic & Pacific, throughout the Bahamas, the Caribbean, and the Mediterranean Sea. He has sailed over 65,000 nautical miles, crossed the Atlantic twice, raced in over 25 major regattas and lived aboard his yachts in the US Virgin Islands since 2003. Originally from Massachusetts, Matt’s family traces their lineage back to the Mayflower and has strong generational maritime ties in New England. He grew up spending summers on Cape Cod, where he learned to sail from a young age aboard his family’s boats.
In his early years in the Virgin Islands, Matt broadened his nautical knowledge base by working in a shipyard, and subsequently a sail-loft. He has lived in and around National Parks most of his life, has a background in wilderness search & rescue and emergency medicine, worked as a ski instructor at Vail Resorts, and more recently as a free-diving guide and naturalist in the US Virgin Islands National Park. He attended university with a focus in Japanese ceramics and bronze casting and holds a black belt in traditional Tae Kwon-Do.
Chef Tmana
Tmana is a talented professional chef who originally hails from the coast of Maine where her family has a thriving New England seafood catering business. She draws diverse culinary inspiration from her travels abroad in Europe, the Bahamas and Caribbean, not to mention her New England roots. Tmana truly enjoys providing exceptional and inventive cuisine to all whom find a seat at her table and has a penchant for creating pastries, desserts and baked goods.
An accomplished sailor in her own right, Tmana has sailed over 5,000 nautical miles including several offshore multi-day passages in water over 25,000ft. deep. Matt & Tmana were married in the Virgin Islands on their adopted island home of St. John in 2015. They honeymooned by sailing from Florida to the Virgin Islands on a 6 month cruise through the Bahamas, Turks & Caicos, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and the Spanish Virgin Islands.
Together, Matt & Tmana have sailed thousands of miles and genuinely love creating new and memorable experiences for their guests through their shared passions for nature, yachting, travel, and cuisine.

Wow! What a trip! Everything was totally amazing. Truly. Some of the highlights: Snorkeling in Waterlemon Cay – Sting rays, turtles, sea stars and more. Evening cocktails – dark and stormy, mango daquiris, delicious st. john root beer and ting. Hiking to Annaberg, Tektite and others – great views. Meals – sesame crusted tune, steak fajitas, avocados on everything. It was an amazing trip!

My dream come true. Lauren and Nick are the perfect example, Chefs, Captain and first mate. Our trip was luxurious, adventurous, relaxing, gourmet, and thrilling. They met all expectations. It was a perfect was to bring in my 70th year. My adult children, Nic and Danielle, equally enjoyed the trip. It was a great family reunion. The yacht was spacious where we could have privacy when wanted and plenty of options for sitting and lounging. I can't say enough about Lauren and Nick. I have never done anything like this and I really recommend it. I had never snorkled and it was a highlight. Seeing all those fish, coral, turtles, and lobsters were amazing. Of course the weather was great and the food was delicious. I am not a huge beach person but I also enjoyed spending some time there. Subwinging was also new and awesome. Definitely a trip I would do again. Oh and the drinks were fabulous!

You hosted us so graciously – making sure that we were al having a great time all the time! Whether it was the outstanding meals the well-though out itinerary, the attention given to our kids...every last detail was perfect. Truly, we could not have asked for anything more. We will head home with nothing but precious memories and hearts full of love and gratitude. You have given us a week in paradise! Forever grateful!

This was our first family vacation, on a sailing yacht. Nick and Lauren were so wonderful from day 1! We learned so much about hikes off the islands, sailing, swimming holes, best food spots, and so much more. This was an amazing experience of a lifetime within the beautiful Virgin Islands. Hospitality was beyond expectations and hope to do another sooner rather than later! We loved every day and our kids couldn't have enjoyed it anymore than they did! Thank you many times over!

Broker Feedback from the Boat Show
Brunch on C'est La Vie was very simple and tasty. The peach Belini's were awesome! She served a sizeable and good crab cake benedict with spicey hollandaise which was very good - even if you don't eat eggs! What is not in the photo is neaufchatel stuffed french toast topped with a strawberry basil compote. Final was the tray of fruits. We all enjoyed it.
Just wanted to let you know that they upped their game from your lunch.
Hope you were nice enough to work off a few calories for me!

- This new 2020 46' Lagoon offers three large double berths each with private ensuite baths including electric heads, vanity and separate showers. The cabins and yacht both offer wonderful natural lighting and great ventilation plus fully air-conditioned depending on the guests' desires. The salon will seat up to 6 guests in comfort for lounging or dining plus with numerous lounging areas, there is plenty of space for gathering as a group or finding a private place for one or two to relax. C'est La Vie's aft exterior offers alfresco dining for up to 6 guests along with top deck seating and lounge area in front of helm, plus a forward lower deck lounge area behind the trampolines. Matt is a USCG licensed Captain with nearly two decades of professional experience on sailing and motor yachts up to 114ft. on the Atlantic & Pacific, throughout the Bahamas, the Caribbean, and the Mediterranean Sea. He has sailed over 65,000 nautical miles, crossed the Atlantic twice, raced in over 25 major regattas and lived aboard his yachts in the US Virgin Islands since 2003. Originally from Massachusetts, Matt’s family traces their lineage back to the Mayflower and has strong generational maritime ties in New England. He grew up spending summers on Cape Cod, where he learned to sail from a young age aboard his family’s boats.
In his early years in the Virgin Islands, Matt broadened his nautical knowledge base by working in a shipyard, and subsequently a sail-loft. He has lived in and around National Parks most of his life, has a background in wilderness search & rescue and emergency medicine, worked as a ski instructor at Vail Resorts, and more recently as a free-diving guide and naturalist in the US Virgin Islands National Park. He attended university with a focus in Japanese ceramics and bronze casting and holds a black belt in traditional Tae Kwon-Do.

Tmana is a talented professional chef who originally hails from the coast of Maine where her family has a thriving New England seafood catering business. She draws diverse culinary inspiration from her travels abroad in Europe, the Bahamas and Caribbean, not to mention her New England roots. Tmana truly enjoys providing exceptional and inventive cuisine to all whom find a seat at her table and has a penchant for creating pastries, desserts and baked goods.
An accomplished sailor in her own right, Tmana has sailed over 5,000 nautical miles including several offshore multi-day passages in water over 25,000ft. deep. Matt & Tmana were married in the Virgin Islands on their adopted island home of St. John in 2015. They honeymooned by sailing from Florida to the Virgin Islands on a 6 month cruise through the Bahamas, Turks & Caicos, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and the Spanish Virgin Islands.

A customary crew gratuity is not included in the charter fee. A standard amount for a gratuity in the charter industry is 15 to 20% of the Total Charter Fee at the discretion of the CHARTERER. This gratuity should be given at the end of the charter, payable via cash or check from a US Bank.

Further to CLAUSE 10, D., DELAY IN DELIVERY/FAILURE TO DELIVER, should the CHARTERER or any member of their charter party test positive for COVID-19 prior to the charter, the positive test or tests will not constitute a government mandate or travel ban as part of this clause and therefore trip insurance is advised.
At the time of this signing, BVI regulations will not permit this vessel to operate commercially in BVI waters.
If the BVI borders are closed or close during the Charter Dates or BVI Government COVID-19 related travel restrictions prevent reasonable entry to or departure from the BVI for the CHARTERER, YACHT or crew, but the USVI borders remain open, the charter or the balance of the charter will take place in the USVI only.
The Charter Fee does not include the British Virgin Islands (BVI) cruising taxes and permit, BVI National Park permit and BVI customs fees (collectively the "BVI Fees"). If the charter itinerary includes the BVI, the BVI Fees shall be paid by the CHARTERER at BVI Customs and Immigration when the Yacht clears into BVI territory at an approximate cost of $200 per guest per week as of the date of this contract, but potentially higher per guest per week.

The boat is clean and comfortable, we enjoyed the outdoor lounge spaces and the convenience of electric heads, water maker and AC! Water toys were so much fun.
Nick and Lauren make a great team and are a pleasure to have as a crew.
We enjoyed spending time together and learning about each other’s backgrounds. They picked great spots for scenic views, snorkeling and hiking! We even got to do some bird watching. We felt very comforted knowing we are in good hands under sails or on the anchor.
Lauren went above and beyond to accommodate our food and wine preferences. The meals were well planned and delicious! Stuffed French toast, empanadas and burgers were kid’s favorites, adults also enjoyed chicken curry and nick’s special egg rolls. Home-made desert with every dinner was an unexpected treat!
It was a perfect start for 2022 and we hope to sail again soon!

March 2022Wow! What a trip! Everything was totally amazing. Truly. Some of the highlights: Snorkeling in Waterlemon Cay – Sting rays, turtles, sea stars and more. Evening cocktails – dark and stormy, mango daquiris, delicious st. john root beer and ting. Hiking to Annaberg, Tektite and others – great views. Meals – sesame crusted tune, steak fajitas, avocados on everything. It was an amazing trip!March 2022My dream come true. Lauren and Nick are the perfect example, Chefs, Captain and first mate. Our trip was luxurious, adventurous, relaxing, gourmet, and thrilling. They met all expectations. It was a perfect was to bring in my 70th year. The food, the adventure, the company! This trip totally exceeded our expectations. Thank you for curating these magical 5 days for us. My fav lunch was the poke bowl! I also loved sailing on the boat. It was tragic when the west marine float flew away. My favorite thing is sitting in the front seat going upwind! Call me when you come to NYC! January 2022We had a great week on Cest La Vie with Nick and Lauren.
The boat is clean and comfortable, we enjoyed the outdoor lounge spaces and the convenience of electric heads, water maker and AC! Water toys were so much fun.
Nick and Lauren make a great team and are a pleasure to have as a crew.
We enjoyed spending time together and learning about each other’s backgrounds. They picked great spots for scenic views, snorkeling and hiking! We even got to do some bird watching. We felt very comforted knowing we are in good hands under sails or on the anchor.
Lauren went above and beyond to accommodate our food and wine preferences. The meals were well planned and delicious! Stuffed French toast, empanadas and burgers were kid’s favorites, adults also enjoyed chicken curry and nick’s special egg rolls. Home-made desert with every dinner was an unexpected treat!
It was a perfect start for 2022 and we hope to sail again soon!

Broker Feedback from the Boat ShowBrunch on C'est La Vie was very simple and tasty. The peach Belini's were awesome! She served a sizeable and good crab cake benedict with spicey hollandaise which was very good - even if you don't eat eggs! What is not in the photo is neaufchatel stuffed french toast topped with a strawberry basil compote. Final was the tray of fruits. We all enjoyed it.
Just wanted to let you know that they upped their game from your lunch.
Hope you were nice enough to work off a few calories for me!

Knockout Charters is the best! Ive been renting from Chris for many years now and could not be happier. Prior seasons John taking us out, but this year we had Capt. Nick on most of our charters. Like John, Nick is as good as it gets. Nick was punctual, reliable, and did an incredible job keeping us happy and safe on all our voyages.
